The Boring Stuff

You can not use the studio for production work

Clay must be purchased directly from the studio

There are payment, clean-up, safety, and etiquette rules that must be adhered to

Payments must be received in full before the first of the month and before you can begin work in the studio.

We only accept payments electronically options through ApplePay and PayPal.

Safety Rules
-
Wear closed toe, slip resistant, shoes
-
Tie back long hair and remove dangling jewelry
-
Wet clean surfaces: to reduce dust.

No sanding dry pieces!
-
Do not leave unused clay out to dry
-
Drinks must have lids: to keep contaminants out of your drinks and reduce possible accidental spills.

Eat only in designated areas
-
Wash your hands frequently: when you are done working (wheel or hand building), after glazing, before and after using the restroom, before and after eating to prevent contamination.

You must be trained and receive approval before using any equipment: wheels, slab rollers, extruders, etc.

Keep track of your tools: some tools are sharp and can cause injury.

Report all injuries immediately! We have a first aid kit.

Clean-up Procedures

For each reserved session, you must budget 20 minutes for clean-up.

Wipe down your work area.

Clean and return all the tools that you used.
-
Put clay scraps in the recycle bucket.

Etiquette

Some people may want to chat and some may prefer to work quietly please be mindful of people's personal preferences.

If there are other people working in your area, be sure to share the space fairly.

If you are holding a conversation, do it quietly.
-
Only offer your opinion or advice, if asked.
-
Do not comment about people or their work while in the studio or on the grounds of the studio.

If you would like to listen to music, use headphones.
-
If you need to use your cellphone, go outside.
-
After you use a tool, glaze, etc., clean it and put it back quickly so that others can use it.
-
Do not touch other people's work or tools.
